Land! Land! Land! sounds a little different than Location! Location! Location!, but how true. If you are one of the many who have listened to the 'experts' that advised one to 'hang in there' regarding the market, I feel for you. One of my bankers listened to their own financial departmental advisers and she is down over 50%! Have you noticed the onslaught of advertisers for gold of late? If you got in back in 2000-2002 you'll do OK, otherwise you may want to look into land, especially agricultural ground. Even if one is not in gold or if one is waiting to get back the losses in the market, just consider the addition of the most tangible of all investments LAND. You can even purchase land/property through your IRA, with the services of a good custodian.
Continued above average demand in land is helping to hold value firm. We are seeing outside buyers to diversify one's investment portfolio and considering land as a good and solid return even in this current market. In my region land value continues to increase. Add in good productivity to excellent productivity in crop ground along with advanced technology increasing production even on lower-producing land class is increasing rents on one's farmland. We are also seeing the interest in formal hunting/fishing leasing that is an additional good source of income increase significantly in my territory.
